Aquaventure is one of Dubai's most thrilling waterparks. In 2013 it got even better when it opened four more thrilling slides – each wrapped around the new Tower of Poseidon pyramid – and the Middle Easts longest zip line circuit. However, you can still dive into old favourites like the Leap of Faith, a 27.5-metre plunge that carries you through a clear tube surrounded by sharks and rays. Although children need to be taller than 1.2 metres to enjoy many of the parks slides, little ones will delight in the Splashers Children's Play Area – a maze of kid-friendly tunnels, tubes, slides and climbing frames.
Offering unobstructed views of Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain, Burj Park is a 11,300 square metre lawn that accommodates thousands of guests. The park was designed for a range of events, including banquets, weddings, concerts and product launches, but it also makes the perfect family destination if you want to picnic with a view. You can also cycle around the area, with bicycles available to hire at the park entrance.
For a family-friendly day out that is as fun as it is educational, head for Children's City. This themed activity centre in Creek Park offers kids their own learning zone and amusement facilities, designed to complement what they've been learning at school. Expect plenty of interactive, hands-on displays to keep things interesting. Highlights include a planetarium, a nature centre, and the Discovery Space, which explores the mysteries of the human body.

Children can stroll, crawl, toddle, walk and ride at a park which transports the outside fun activities inside the enclosed space.
